No TWiK post this week

No time; Akademy 2023 has eaten up everyone’s schedule! It promises to be an enjoyable and useful conference, so I’m sure there will be lots to talk about next week. See you then!

  1. Hey, I noticed there’s a talk about Kleopatra on the schedule, but I don’t see anything about the bills that threaten to render it useless.

If you’re in favor of these bills, could you publish an article that explains how Western democracies are benevolent and incorruptible, so much so that even if they require backdoors for total surveillance of private communications, it’s not seen as a violation of privacy or loss of user control, and not even considered an exception worth making in KDE Vision?

Seriously, it’s not that obvious, especially for those living in less free parts of the world. Some people even argue that democracy is nothing but a huge lie.

I’m hoping you’ll provide some explanation to help those who are unsure to make the right choice…

    1. Will you please stop posting useless bullshit like this on every single blog post. You’re wasting everyone’s time and making your own cause seem idiotic by freaking out over everything for years and years, yet nothing you fear ever actually happens.

      Just stop. Please.

  2. Enjoy Akademy!

One thing on another topic I wanted you to ask is Dr. Konqi. The new QML version is a lot more difficult to use than its predecessor (no backtrace comparison, with bigger tracelog extreme UI lagging, general UI delayed-responsiveness, never disappearing rotating gear after submission and with it the lack of information whether the submission was successful, etc.). Should I report these bugs or are they generally known inside the development community?

    1. Bug reports are useful, yeah. We’re aware that the QML port is pretty rough, but specific bug reports can help focus development.
